About The Conference

Due to global interactions, many aspects in fields of study in humanities and arts have emerged into one big area of studies which enables many young scholars to work and research together. The result of the research may be expected to be more fruitful and multifaceted than before. In order to equip young scholars who are graduating–or have just graduated with methodologies and skills for doing research, Inusharts offers them a place to gain new knowledge and expand their horizons with fellow scholars from Indonesia and all over the world.

The third International Young Scholars Symposium of Humanities and Arts will be held in Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Indonesia, on 6 – 8 August 2018. It is a special symposium that provides a rare opportunity for (senior) undergraduate students who are in the process of writing or finishing their final papers/thesis to present their ideas and insights regarding the current situation of their fields of study based on their visions and ongoing research. Supervisors are expected to co-present with their advisees during the conference as corresponding author to help boost the spirit and motivation of their students.

The symposium will look at the theme of “Global Interconnectivity of Peoples, Languages and Cultures”.

Call for Papers

We welcome individual paper submission by senior undergraduate students based on their final assignment/thesis. Participants are strongly encouraged to co-submit with their supervisor and the supervisor will appear on the paper as a corresponding author. The one who is responsible to submit the full paper and register for the conference is the supervisor (not the student).
The paper should be around 5000 – 6000 words (excluding reference list), typed at 1.5 space, using Times New Roman font size 12. The margins at four sides should be set at 1 inch.

The paper could be written in English or Indonesian for the submission. Please make sure the paper is well-written and properly edited.

For papers written in Indonesian, after the paper is accepted for conference presentation and publication, participants are expected to translate the paper into English (or have a professional translator do the translation) before resubmitting. Poor language quality, including errors in grammar, spelling or language usage, could lead to outright rejection of the paper during the final publication process.

Selected papers will be published in the Scopus-indexed publications.

Please check the SUBMISSION link on top of the website for detailed information on the paper structure and submission process.
